We can provide BNG assessment for your project, integrating landscape design with the BNG appraisal, or carrying out the BNG check as a stand-alone service.

Combining design and assessment in one place streamlines the process and enables sensible design decisions to be optimise the design for biodiversity in an efficient manner.

Working with the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric, as used in England, provides a robust assessment; in due course once NatureScot publish their BNG tool (currently in development) we will adopt it as standard for Scottish projects. For now, the DEFRA Metric is required by several planning authorities here in Scotland and is recognised as the standard for biodiversity net gain assessment.
